Dynamic Concerts with Guest Musicians
Feel the Magic of Chamber Music
Strings combine with the majesty of the piano as we join with Crystal Smith for a program highlighting the passing of baton from past masters to their future counterparts. Alys, Alex and Crystal will play Beethoven’s Piano Trio op. 1, no. 2, heard at it’s premiere by Beethoven’s mentor and admirer Franz Joseph Haydn. A string quartet by the father of the string quartet himself will follow. ‘Djilile’ by our own Australian giant Peter Sculthorpe will bring a distinct change of pace and style to the concert, alongside a new work for piano and strings by Brisbane high school student and emerging composer, Charlotte Fennessy.
